In recent decades, the diversification of automated learning applications has led to new requirements inherent in the availability of large-scale data. Given the new scientific and technological challenges that are encountered, mathematical optimization has been established as the right approach for many machine learning problems. The specific requirements of machine learning raise new challenges for optimization. In turn, optimization takes advantage of machine learning insofar as concepts, formalisms, approximations and algorithms are revisited.
The Second International Conference on Learning and Optimization Algorithms: Theory and Applications (LOPAL’2020) bridges the gap between these two areas of knowledge. LOPAL’2020 will be a relevant opportunity for researchers, practitioners and educators around the world to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends and concerns together with the theoretical and practical challenges encountered, and their applications.
We invite fellow researchers to propose tracks on their particular field of interest in the context of automated learning and optimization, and their applications. Tracks will be central events in LOPAL’2020, and will be held in parallel to the main conference sessions. We welcome both established and emerging topics in the area. Each track is to be organised by 2-3 track chairs, who are responsible for promoting and ensure an adequate number of submissions, and creating an attractive track program.
Track proposals should be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than November 30, 2019. Notifications of acceptance or rejection of proposed tracks will be sent back on December 9, 2019.
Please include the following information in the track proposal:
- Title of the track session.
- Brief technical description.
- Names, addresses, affiliation and e-mail addresses of the (2-3) track chairs, who at least two of them should work at distinct institutions.
- List of the technical review committee, which should be composed of experienced members knowledgeable in the technical area.
- Publicity plans for soliciting participation for papers.
- List of supporting authors that would potentially submit a manuscript to the track.
- Any special resources required (time, invited speakers, etc.).
