COVID-19 Update.

In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are sorry to announce that the conference is postponed to 2022. We came to this difficult decision following government public health advice and the forecast for coming months. Thank you for your understanding and apologies for the inconvenience.

We are currently looking for new dates that will be announced as soon as possible. Hope you will be able to join us when the conference is finally being held.

Please stay safe and healthy during these unprecedented circumstances.

In recent decades, the diversification of automated learning applications has led to new requirements inherent in the availability of large-scale data. Given the new scientific and technological challenges that are encountered, mathematical optimization has been established as the right approach for many Machine Learning problems. The specific requirements of machine learning raise new challenges for optimization. In turn, optimization takes advantage of machine learning insofar as concepts, formalisms, approximations and algorithms are revisited.

The Second International Conference on Learning and Optimization Algorithms: Theory and Applications (LOPAL’2020), which is to be held on June 2020 at University of Córdoba, Spain, bridges the gap between these two areas of knowledge. LOPAL’2020 will be a relevant opportunity for researchers, practitioners, and educators around the world to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns together with the theoretical and practical challenges encountered and their applications.

LOPAL’2020 welcomes original papers on all research areas related to the theoretical aspects of Machine Learning, optimization, their interfaces, and the application of their algorithms in various domains.
